Medicine Pouches Page The medicine pouch is carried so that you will have your personal “medicine” with you. Your medicine is whatever holds significance for you, and when carried, it will protect you. You may call on your medicine for strength and/or courage during daily activities. This medicine pouch holds several items to help keep you connected to Spirit. There are several stones of different colors, each representing one of the 7 major energy centers (chakras) in the body. You may also find a crystal for absorbing and transmitting energy, an obsidian chip for grounding and protection, or a kernel of sacred blue corn as an offering of gratitude. This medicine pouch may also be trimmed with any of the following: Turquoise, which is a healing stone. It provides protection, balances the chakras, increases intuition, dispels negative energy, and attunes the physical level to the spiritual. It also strengthens the meridians of the body and the subtle energy fields. Fetishes - The animal spirit of the fetish animal is believed to be a helper or guardian. For example; The fetish bear is a symbol of strength, power, introspection, and leadership. Feathers represent the wind, sun sky, and the heavens. You may add whatever “medicine” is meaningful for you. Do not reveal the contents of your medicine pouch to others. Keep it with you for protection, and enjoy.
